Mary Ellen Prewedo Original Abstract and Landscape Art

Small Works

Works on Mixed Media Paper

I am a contemporary mixed media and landscape artist. My first love is incorporating texture into my paintings. My mixed media abstracts consist of many layers of unusual textures.  I use many different types of papers and other elements and found objects that give my creations depth. I also use texture to create depth in my abstract landscape creations by incorporating impasto and other found objects.

The texture I incorporate into my creations is used to signify life experiences and strong emotion for the past, present and future. The texture invites the viewer to reach out and feel the layers. The paintings are finished with a varnish that enables you to do just that.
